Opening hours of service rules are the rules of the U.S. Department of Transportation Division of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) on hours of work of all those operating a commercial motor vehicle (CMV). These include truck drivers and bus drivers. These rules limit the number of newspapers (daily and weekly hours to go), and adjust the minimum amount of time drivers need to rest between shifts driving. The driver of a CMV is alsorequired to keep a record of working with a logbook, in which the total number of hours to spend, driving times and rest periods and the date on which the change in duty status occurred.
The driver of hours of service are regulated by both federal and state authorities. At the federal level are hours of service, the driver of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR). Were issued and enforced by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) ofDepartment of Transportation (DOT).

11 hours of driving rule: All the time spent at the wheel while driving. After 11 hours of driving, you musthave 10 consecutive hours off duty before driving again.
14 consecutive hours of service: The driver of commercial motor vehicles can not drive a commercial vehicle after 14 consecutive hours after the service later. The driver can not drive again until you have 10 consecutive hours of rest '. Lunch or other off-duty time not to extend the period of 14 hours.
